Book a Comedy Ghost Tour

During the Halloween season, most towns with a rich history will offer ghost tours that talk about the spooky hauntings in the area. While most tour companies advertise their ghost tours as being family-friendly they really are meant for older children who can understand the stories being discussed. Luckily, Gatlinburg is home to Gatlinburg Comedy Tours which offers hilarious and family-friendly tours in the area. They will be offering their Comedy Ghost Tour which brings a hilarious spin on local folklore and ghost stories from the area. The tour starts at Tom and Earl’s Back Alley Grille and will take you by local landmarks such as Donut Friar (we guarantee you cannot walk by without grabbing one of their tasty treats!). The tour even offers fun games the kids can also play during the tour if they are unable to stay focused. Tours are available for this Halloween season with tickets starting at $20 for children and $40 for adults.

Hallow Mountain at Anakeesta

One of the area’s biggest attractions, Anakeesta, will be bringing back its much-acclaimed fall-themed event Hallow Mountain. This special time for Anakeesta decorates the park in fall colors along with having jack-o-lanterns. Each day of Hallow Mountain offers delicious seasonal food, live games and entertainment, drinks, and family-friendly fun. There is even more fun on Halloween day with live music from Kincaid Band that is included with the normal admission into the park. Anakeesta will be open on Halloween day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM for all kinds of fall-themed fun.

The Island at Pigeon Forge

One of the most exciting attractions in Pigeon Forge is The Island, a center for some of the best shops and restaurants in town. Each year The Island transforms into a Halloween paradise full of exciting activities for all ages. One of the more popular activities at The Island will be trick or treating for the little children. Trick or treating will start at the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel with several participating businesses in the area helping out. The Island encourages all children to show up in their best costumes and collect as much candy as possible. Trick or treating is free for everyone in attendance. Once you are done with trick or treating that runs on Halloween from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM you should check out the local vendors in the area. Ole Smoky Moonshine will be having Firewall Junction play a live performance on their stage at 2:00 PM earlier that afternoon.

Tour the Mysterious Mansion in Gatlinburg

The Mysterious Mansion has always been a local icon but this Halloween season it gets decked out for an even spookier time. The Mysterious Mansion is located in downtown Gatlinburg and has turned into a spooky haunted house with special showings throughout the month of October. For those looking for a scary time visitors can try out these special showings Friday through Sunday; these tours are recommended for teens and adults as they can be quite scary. However, the Mysterious Mansion will also offer less scary tours during the weekdays letting little ones explore the three-story home. Halloween is always better with a haunted house nearby!

Explore Ripley’s Haunted Adventure

Another local attraction in the area that will get a makeover for the Halloween season is Ripley’s Haunted Adventure. This year-round attraction is spooky on its own but gets even more decorated in time for Halloween. Ripley Fright Nights will be taking place throughout the entire month of October. An extra scary version of the attraction will be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening for the older children and adults in your family. Regular admission is perfect for children ages six and up. You can also purchase combo passes during your visit so you can also check out the other Ripley attractions such as the Aquarium of the Smokies for a discount rate!
