Easter Arts & Crafts Show
This upcoming Easter holiday the residents of Gatlinburg will be hosting their annual Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show inside the Gatlinburg Convention Center. This event features a variety of handcrafted gifts and unique products for you to browse from local vendors and artists. Live demonstrations will also be given so you can see some incredible art work created right in front of you. The Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show is completely free to attend and will take place April 13th through 16th.
Bunny Hopper Express
Neighboring city Bryson City is the location where you can find the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, a popular attraction in the area. This year the railroad will host their annual Bunny Hopper Express Easter Train that travels down the Nantahala Gore River for some beautiful scenery. Tell the kids to keep a look out for some Easter bunnies who have snuck aboard the train for a free ride and to hand out goodies. Guests of the train will also be able to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, tasty snacks, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. The Bunny Hopper Express is a 4 and a half hour ride that departs at 10:30 AM on April 15th and 16th. Tickets are required to ride this holiday themed train ride.
Easter Egg Hunt at Wear Farm City Park
Pigeon Forge gets on with the Easter celebrations too with their annual Easter Egg Hunt located at Wear Farm City Park. This annual event always takes place the Saturday before Easter with an exciting Easter egg hunt for children ages 0 to 12. The egg hunt is staggered, allowing specific age groups to hit the fields to join in on the fun. This year’s event will take place on April 16th with the first age group starting at 11:00 AM. Guests will find the hunt taking place on the four baseball fields at the park. The Easter Egg Hunt is completely free to attend making it a great activity for your Easter weekend in Pigeon Forge.
Easter at Mama’s Farmhouse
Most Easter events taking place in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg take place on the days leading up to Easter. For a celebration on Easter Sunday look no further than Easter at Mama’s Farmhouse right here in Pigeon Forge. This special event will be held at Mama’s Farmhouse where a delicious Easter dinner will be hosted. The meal will complete Easter dinner specialties such as honey baked ham, turkey with dressing, fried chicken, veggie soup, chicken and dumplings, casserole, deviled eggs, and a variety of tasty sides. Don’t forget about dessert with sweet treats such as banana pudding and peach cobbler. Guests will be able to enjoy their dinner between 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM so you can plan your day accordingly. Easter would not be complete without an Easter egg hunt. Mama’s Farmhouse will host two separate Easter egg hunts that day at noon and 2:00 PM. This allows guests and their children to take a shot at finding the many hidden eggs for some delicious treats. Easter at Mama’s Farmhouse is an Easter celebration like no other!
Easter Eggstravanganza
Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies also gets in on the Easter fun with their annual Easter Eggstravaganza taking place April 16th. This fun event takes place at the Ripley’s plaza located in front of the aquarium and is free for all to attend. KinderJoy Candy Company sponsors the event providing everyone with delicious candy and treats along with arts and crafts. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to taking photos with all the little ones. The event will take place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Once you are done with Easter Eggstravaganza use the rest of the day to explore Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies to see some truly incredible fish and other marine life; a must see attraction for all of Gatlinburg!
