Tennessee is a fun and interesting place to discover any time of year. Make Tennessee and the Smoky Mountain region of Pigeon Forge part of your next getaway. If you’re looking for a way to add some interesting and animal-related fun to your trip, spend some time at Goats on the Roof of the Smokies. They are located at 1341 Wears Valley Road, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863. Their phone number is 865-366-7139. They’re open daily at 9 a.m. Meet and feed the goats, ride the goat coaster, or go gem mining.
Feed the Goats
Guests aren’t allowed to climb up on the roof themselves, so the staff at Goats on the Roof devised a “goat cycle” that transports your can of goat chow up to the roof for the goats to devour. To watch them dine or play up close, head inside and to the second level of the gift shop where you can look out.
Goat Coaster
You won’t be riding a goat on this mountain coaster. Board the one- or two-passenger sleds for a ride that weaves nearly a mile. You can also reach speeds up to 30 miles-per-hour, but there’s a hand brake on the side of the sled for you to control the speed. Adjust your speed accordingly so you can take in the breathtaking mountain views during the seven-minute ride. Riders must be at least three years old and 38” tall. Drivers should be at least 54” tall and no more than 84”. Sleds hold a total of 375 pounds. The coaster is open daily rain or shine at 9 a.m. and rides are just $10/person.
Gem Mining
Be a prospector! The special gem mine at Goats on the Roof is a great way to spend time together and feel the excitement of finding gems like rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Start with a bucket and an old-style water sluice – just like in the Old West. Get a small bucket for $15, two buckets for $20, or opt for a single large bucket for $25 so everyone can dig in!
Sweet Shop
Tempt your sweet tooth! Choose from a selection of homemade fudges, cookies, and even ice cream that will have everyone screaming. Fudge flavors may include birthday cake, peanut butter, or maple walnut along with regular chocolate. Try a chocolate chip, macadamia nut, or other flavor cookie that you’ll need two hands to eat.
Rip-Roaring Good Time in the Smokies
When you make a visit to Goats on the Roof as part of your Pigeon Forge vacation, you’ll be sure to have a fun and interesting experience. For the most fun, make sure you leave your worries and stresses at home when you book a vacation rental with Kaizen Rentals.
